Lessons learned this week

How many convenience stores do you have close to you?

I was telling someone the other day how easy it would be to buy something and learned that they live in the countryside and that their nearest store to buy that product was a hundred miles away.

I made a common mistake which we all do. If we are not careful we can assume that our lives are like every others, that our situation and experience is somewhat universal.

We all do this in some way and it hurts us connect with others. Don’t assume that your experience is someone else’s. Share experiences with others.

I need to better at this and I will.

First seek to understand THEN be understood
