School is not for everyone

I was terrible at school, I did ok at college, I excelled at university. School was not for me, college allowed for self expression and university expected self expression.

The more the academic establishment allowed me to be creative and move outside the lines the better I did. Those at school were not more intelligent than me and I dont think I was more intelligent than those at University. We just were more comfortable in an environment.

Give your kids a break if they are not performing at a high level at school. We all have our own spaces to shine. There is a big difference however on those that get jobs based on their past and those that continue to learn after education.

School is one thing. Education is another. The two don’t always overlap. Whether you’re in school, college, university or starting a career, it’s always your job to get yourself an education.
