When you become a parent you sign yourself up to be many roles: Protector, provider, punisher, peacemaker to name just a few but it is the parental pep talk where I enter into my own domain. I lack confidence on many things but the ‘go getter’ pep talk I am the master at.
I am not sure if its the years of studying oratory, or my time as a football coach but I give good pep talks and I think I can at the drop of a hat help anyone who is willing to help themselves feel better about the day ahead.
I am still drawing and painting, it is my third week in learning this new skill and trying to incorporate that into my pep talk armoury. The above picture I drew for my family last night. It depicts one single leaf holding on against a harsh arrival of winter. This little defiant leaf I painted in orange my favourite colour after yellow of course. It is holding on against impossible odds. I accompanied this little post card with the following text I found:
Who is to be blamed when a leaf falls from a tree? Is it the wind that blew it away? Or is it the tree that let it go? Or is it the leaf who grew tired of holding on? Life is full of misunderstandings, everyday, every moment It’s up to us to: Solve it Or leave it Or live with it...
Have a lovely day where ever you are and whenever you read this. Hearty handshakes from me to you. – NCS
