Want and worry

Most people consider hope a good thing. Most people consider fear a bad thing. It took me 47 years to realise that they are both two sides of the same ‘very bad’ coin.

It took me too long in life to realise that when I hope for something to happen OR I fear something that might happen I am thinking about a future not in my control. Fear therefore is a form of negative hope. Both are forms of anticipation, as I try to forecast the future and experience emotions in line with those predictions.

Fear is worrying and hope is wanting and I don’t need either of them in my life and may I suggest neither do you.
