Learning from rain

Staying at the beach this weekend and it rained in biblical proportions last night. It caught me by surprise and I was left stranded at the beach hut with a short walk to go to get to our holiday home.

Determined to get home as dry as possible I began to run along the seaside path, using my neighbours beach hut porches for some temporary relief from the rain. I was still getting very wet with every beach hut hop. It then occurred to me that I was going to get wet no matter what I did, and trying to avoid the rain was more perplexing than the soaking.

So I stepped into the rain feeling it on my skin as if it were a sought after shower and not something I could avoid. I began again to walk the journey home but enjoying the soaking knowing that it was unavoidable and a life experience. You can apply this philosophy to all things.
