Two Canadians and one dollar bill

I was once late getting off a plane in New York as I was behind two Canadians in an argument. The argument was over a dollar that had been picked up off the floor.

Both of them were insistent the other had dropped it. In what appeared to be a never ending game of ‘no after you’, ‘no I insist I after you’ I was stuck behind the two politest men in the world. It was like they were both would not be happy until the other was a dollar up.

I eventually made my connecting flight but learned a valuable travel lesson. Sometimes selfishness of the masses is not all bad. Also that there is a time and a place for polite, the right place for that moment was behind me not in front of me.

Happy Monday all – Let’s make this week a masterpiece
