Railway stations & loved ones

Melanie and I were already at the beach for the weekend when Natty our daughter decided to come down and stay with us. She was going to be on the 10:36 Sunday morning train from Victoria to Brighton, and we could not have been more happy to see her.

We waited for her at the station and it reminded me how lovely it is to wait for a loved one at a busy train station. The anticipation of seeing the person you love, the sea of faces walking toward you and then feeling when you see the person you love and they see you.

When your eyes meet and the smile overcomes you both. Is there any better feeling than welcoming someone you love into your arms across a busy railway station? An immediate and warm reminder that you love and are loved.

To the world you are maybe just someone, but to someone you maybe the world

someone smart and loved
