Over the Christmas break many of us would have watched movies we treasure and have watched many times. Our family movie is ‘The Princess Bride’ it is a wonderful movie for all the family and full of so many wonderful quotes.
Who can forget:
- “Life Is Pain, Highness. Anyone Who Says Differently Is Selling Something.”
- “As you wish”
- “Inconceivable!”
- “Have Fun Storming The Castle!”
Perhaps one of the best-known quotes from the film is from Inigo makes it clear from the very first moment who he is, and what his mission in life is. He’s pursued fencing more than studied it, all so he can kill the six-fingered man that murdered his beloved father in cold blood.
“Hello. My Name Is Inigo Montoya. You Killed My Father. Prepare To Die.”

Inigo’s introduction above, which he repeats throughout the film, makes him a memorable character with an unforgettable storyline. He’s definitely a favorite character among audiences, and this quote is one of the reasons why.
However my favourite quote has changed over time. As I get older and hopefully wiser my favourite quote comes at the end of the movie when Inigo has succeeded in his mission. Wesley asks him what he will do with his life now and he says something so true, so human, it is truly a lesson we should all feel and understand… enjoy.
