People used to talk of ‘Will’ alot, not so much now they have chosen resilience more often to say now. For me though it is the will that is still most relevant today. The will to win is a crucial factor in achieving success in any endeavour. Whether it’s in sports, business, or personal development, the drive to win can be the difference between success and failure.
Having a strong will to win to me means having a clear and compelling goal, and the determination to overcome any obstacles that stand in the way. It usually means being willing to work harder, smarter, and longer than anyone else to achieve your desired outcome.
The will to win is I believe a mindset that can be developed and nurtured. It will require discipline, focus, and a commitment however so don’t think there are short cuts. By cultivating a strong will to win, you can achieve extraordinary results and create a life of purpose, passion, and fulfilment.
I believe, the will to win is an essential ingredient for success in anything. It typically is what sets apart those who achieve their dreams from those who merely dream about them. So, cultivate your will to win and let it propel you towards your goals and aspirations.
I hope you like the poem that I have turned to many times when struggling for ‘Will’. It worked every time, and it WILL for you.
The Will To Win If you want a thing bad enough To go out and fight for it, Work day and night for it, Give up your time and your peace and Your sleep for it If only desire of it Makes you quite mad enough Never to tire of it, Makes you hold all other things tawdry And cheap for it If life seems all empty and useless without it And all that you scheme and you dream is about it, If gladly you’ll sweat for it, Fret for it, Plan for it, Lose all your terror of God or man for it, If you’ll simply go after that thing that you want. With all your capacity, Strength and sagacity, Faith, hope and confidence, stern pertinacity, If neither cold, poverty, famished and gaunt, Nor sickness nor pain Of body or brain Can turn you away from the thing that you want, If dogged and grim you besiege and beset it, You’ll get it. ~ Berton Braley
