Not sure why I remember this today but it just came back to me this morning. I remember travelling to Scotland years ago, we went right up to the Northern most tip of our beautiful island.
I had driven for over a day, got a boat /ferry to get to Lochinver, Sutherland in western Scotland. As I surveyed the bleak but inspiring landscape, I turned to a local villager who happened to be standing next to me and said: “You’re very remote here, aren’t you?” and the gnarly looking old Scottish guy responded: “Remote from what?” I looked at him with a smile, he smiled back and we silently returned to just looking into the yonder for he knew as I do now – happiness lies in perspective.
