Reading is not slacking

Meetings, team calls and 1:1’s are part of our working day culture and no one questions them on a calendar. What if you saw ‘Read a Book for an hour’ on someone’s calendar what would you think?

Reading can change your perspective. This in turn can lead to improved productivity or you and your team contribution. This needs to be understood by all organisations and encouraged.

Reader today, leader tomorrow

My current employer encourage the level of ownership I ascribe in this post. But not all do, most don’t! and I know this from the young professionals I mentor in my community.

Saying no to meetings that have too many people in attendance and saying yes to personal development that benefit the team. That is the kind of leadership organisations need. This might seem small, but multiplied would be significant. Don’t be shy, own your day and read to lead.
