They’re your “no matter whats.”
Without them, you drift.
With them, you steer.
Mine? It is Impact.
My thinking on Impact
Some people chase promotions.
Some chase applause.
Some just want to keep the peace.
But some of us— we need to make a dent.
Impact isn’t a perk. It’s the point.
If you strip away the meetings, the metrics, the performance reviews…
What’s left? If it’s not change, it might not be worth it.
The hard part about impact is:
It doesn’t always show up in dashboards. But you feel it in your gut when it’s missing. A career without impact is like a lighthouse with no beam—
tall, impressive, but directionless.
So we choose.
To say no to the work that only looks good.
To say yes to the work that leaves a mark.
That’s a non-negotiable.
