Success is subtraction not addition

As you get older and try and remain still relevant you are asked to do more coaching and buddy up with new young and energetic professionals as some kind of mentor or advisor.

The question I get asked most often is: “What do I need to be successful” OR “What more do I need to do ?”

My answer is posed as a challenge. Success often is more about what you should stop doing, what you should remove from your schedule or list of things to do. “What should you stop doing to be successful is a better question”

When you want to be good at anything and you are enthusiastic and energetic then you must focus and that means doing less. Success for me is more about subtraction than addition.
