Charity sees the need, not the cause

I am feeling much better this morning, the migraine has gone and I can breathe better at least. The migraine stuck around a lot longer than they usually do.

Today’s post is on charity. I always think more about charity on cold days. I know there are so many deserving charities but the needs of the homeless always pull at my hear strings. It is so cold in the UK at the moment, I hate to think of the homeless all year but in winter it must be awful.

Do you give money to charity? Maybe you help out where you can. It is good to help whether it be a few hours to help at a shelter, or teach at a school or just lend a hand to a neighbour. It feels good, I am not sure of another more satisfactory feeling than helping out a fellow human.

James Lowell once said, ‘its not what we give but what we share, For the gift without the giver is bare. Who gives of himself of his alms feeds three, Himself, his hungering neighbour, and me.’

So if you can, give a little charity this year and see if it makes a difference in your life. I dont think real charity cares if it’s tax-deductible or not.
